After so many years I have finally decided to organize a group to Egypt. You all know the love and connection I have with the country. This trip will be very special, as I want you to know about Ramadan in Egypt and be able to attend a unique event that takes place once a year in Cairo. In addition, we will also be able to bring material and donations to families from Gaza, refugees in Cairo.

Passport must be valid for at least 6 months to enter Egypt.
Travel insurance with IATA Travel
I recommend creating a Revolut account to pay and withdraw money with very little commission.
Internet: In case you need Internet when we are away, let me know and I will organize a SIM card for you.

As the trip will be during Ramadan I want to remind you:
Breakfast at the hotel or cruise will also be before Fajr prayer 🤲
Iftar will be together with other people of the group 🥣 or free choice.
Itinerary
13.03.2024: Arrival in Cairo
Arrival at Cairo airport, welcome and assistance at Cairo airport.
Finalize all visa formalities with our representative.
Transfer and check in at the hotel in Cairo.
14.03.2024: Visit to the pyramids of Giza and Saqqara
(Possibility to go to the New Great Egyptian Museum for only 15€ extra, instead of going to the pyramids of Saqqara)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure in the morning to visit the pyramids complex (pyramid of Cheops + pyramid of Cheops + pyramid of Chephren + pyramid of Mycerinus) and an explanation of how and why they were built.
Transfer to a panoramic point where you can see the 3 pyramids together.
Visit to the temple of King Khafre's valley and a very interesting explanation about the secrets of mummification in Ancient Egypt.
Visit to the Sphinx, the history of its construction and its myths.
Visit to the papyrus museum to see the authentic papyrus plant and how it was used to make the first paper in human history.
A stop by date plantations or taste local dates.
Visit the first stone building in history, the step pyramid of Saqqara.
Entrance included to the famous pyramid of Teti to see the famous hieroglyphic reliefs inside the pyramid.
Return to the hotel.
15.03.2024: Day off in Matareya with Ramadan Iftar
Breakfast at the hotel.
Explanation of how the Egyptians live Ramadan, conviviality with Christians, traditions.
Visit a center to help pack food (depending on the time they do it, we can help 1 hour - 2 hours, it would be a Friday or Saturday so I guess they can do it in the morning.
We will distribute donations or material things to Gaza families living in Cairo.
Lunch
Short visit to the Virgin Mary tree in Matareya (The Holy Family stayed several days sheltered under that tree).
Time in Matareya to break the fast among the local people.
Suhur (late Ramadan dinner) in a very local place.
16.03.2024: Visit to the Egyptian Museum, Mohamed Ali Mosque, Coptic Quarter and Khan el Khalili Bazaar
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure to visit the Egyptian Museum which has more than 120 thousand pieces of artifacts sarcophagi, etc. .
Enjoy a tour of the most important pieces and masterpieces in the museum.
Entrance to the hall of King Tutankhamun and see all his treasures; including the precious golden mask of the young king.
Lunch at the famous Abou Tarek restaurant (typical Egyptian Koshari)
Visit the Alabaster Mosque built by King Mohamed Ali and an interesting explanation about the religion of Islam and its pillars.
Visit the hanging church located in the Coptic Quarter, in the heart of Egypt's indigenous Christian community. We will also go to see the house of the Holy Family, the house where Christ lived as a child.
Visit the Khan el Khalili Old Market and a free time tour of the famous bazaar. We will also pass by the newly renovated Al-Hussain Mosque and visit the al-Azhar Mosque.
Attend a Maghrib / Isha prayer at one of the two mosques.
Return to the hotel.
17.03.2024: Trip to Aswan and visit to Philae Temple
Departure from the hotel and check out at the coordinated time.
Transfer to Cairo airport and flight to Aswan, approximately 1 hour and a half flight.
Arrival in Aswan and welcome at the airport.
Visit to the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the Goddess Isis on an island in the Nile River by boat and explanation with free time inside the Temple.
Visit to the house of typical Egyptian essences.
Check in on the cruise and lunch.
Visit the Nubian village located on the west bank of the Nile in Aswan and visit one of the houses of the Nubians and take Egyptian tea with typical food. Optional visit: Price 40 € / person
18.03.2024: Visit to Abu Simbel Temple and Kom Ombo.
Breakfast on the boat
Early morning departure to visit the famous Temple of Abu Simbel built by King Ramses II in southern Egypt and the Temple of his wife Nefertari. Optional visit: Price 110€ / person
Navigation on the Nile River with the cruise to the city of Kom Ombo.
Visit the Temple of Kom Ombo dedicated to the two gods Horus and Sobek and the Temple of the mummified crocodiles.
Return to the boat attending the show as we sail to the city of Edfu.
19.03.2024: Visit to the Temples of Edfu, Luxor and Karnak.
Breakfast on the boat in the morning.
Departure with carriages and visit to the Temple of Edfu dedicated to the god Horus which is considered the best preserved Temple in Egypt.
Sailing to Luxor with the cruise ship, passing through the lock of Esna.
Arrival in Luxor and visit the Temple of Luxor dedicated to the God Amun Ra with the giant facade of the statues of King Ramses II.
Visit the famous Temple of Karnak, the largest temple in Egypt and visit the sanctuary and the sacred lake.
Walk 7 times around the scarab statue by the sacred lake, symbol of good luck.
Return to the boat and dinner on board.
20.03.2024: Visit to the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut Temple
Balloon flight over Luxor and enjoy the wonderful view of Luxor from above.Optional visit: Price 100€ / person.
Visit the Valley of the Kings and included entrance to three of the most beautiful tombs of the ancient Egyptian kings and entrance to the Tomb of King Tutankhamun for extra charge.
Visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut built on the mountain.
Visit the Colossi of Memnon.
Check out from the cruise and transfer to Luxor airport.
Fly to Cairo and check in at the hotel in Cairo.
21.03.2024: Return flight
